The executive summary is the most important page of the whole funding proposal. The executive summary should not be longer than one page. It should be written after you have completed the full proposal as a tightly summarised version of your proposal.
An executive summary should include:
- Your statement of need
- How you organisation aims to address that need
- A very brief history of your NPO
- Why you are best equipped to meet that need
- How many will benefit from the programme or project
- Where it will take place
- A summary of costs
- Why the prospect is the right partner for your NPO
